“Adventure Lies Within The Pages of A Book,” I was always told, as kids, we were to go outside and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine or go expand our minds. Television was something we did on Saturday mornings for a couple of hours, then outside we would go.
I, however; would try to stay in my room with my nose in a book. What adventures I would go on as I turned the pages. Remember seeing the commercials about a kid under the bedsheets with a flashlight so that they could read a little bit longer? I was that kid!
I loved to read anything I could lay my hands on. Today isn’t any different. I will read anything I come across from adventure in an unknown world to biting my nails at a scary and horrific murder of some unknown to comedy, where you can’t help but laugh out loud, and people around you think you’re a bit daft. Expand my mind, my mom said, has taken me on some GRAND Adventures!
What Grand Adventure Is In-store?
I, Wendy, received 3 books to read over the last week. One book was mystery and suspenseful, the other was about murder, and the last was a teen fantasy that brought you in the middle of battles and bravery. Nail biting good!
Fatal Option:
Fatal Option by Chris Beakley is about the mysterious death of the wife of a character named Stephen Porter. His daughter, Sara in the story shows the incredible strength that I feel in love with! For the readers out there who love a thriller, fictional suspense story that will have you one to edge of every page…this book is your sweet cake. You will eat it up! The ending is not what I excepted, and I’ll be re-reading this one again shortly! A must read!

Justice by Another Name:
Justice by Another Name by E.C Hanes is another woven story a death, cover-ups and great action! This book, I found myself staying up throughout the night to finish. You’ll meet a strong woman named Lana who will do anything for justice and to avenge her family. A woman scorned and wanted something to be done about it. She does what she has to do to make sure the guilty party pays dearly! In this book, I could see myself in her place, and I would do what she did. You will love this book and find it hard to put down until you finish. Anyone else up for a great murder story with a little bit of revenge on the side? I know I was!!
A little bit about the author:
E.C. “Redge” Hanes began his business career working for the famous apparel company started by his great-grandfather after graduating from Duke University in 1967 and a tour in Viet Nam in 1969 and 1970 where he was awarded a bronze star. Hanes has served on the boards of several prestigious wildlife conservation, environmental, educational, and arts-related organizations in North Carolina. His debut novel, Billy Bowater, was based on the behind-the- scenes politics of North Carolina with a particular focus on the period dominated by the late Senator Jesse Helms. Hanes lives in Winston-Salem, NC.

Of course it has the hero and heroine, Kendra and Seth. Along their journey they have to learn to trust in themselves, their skills, talents and knowledge to help save them and others.
I found this book to be all that I would want in a fantasy story. Reading about the epic fights between the good and the bad guys, and having the bad guys getting their butts handed to them! I think young teens will enjoy this to the max. I know my niece has already stolen the book from me to read. Kids, gotta love them! I’m going to have to buy the rest of the Fable Haven series to know how the story begins!
