Gone Fishin’ With Rapala For Father’s Day! What a better way to celebrate Father’s Day than taking your dad to his favorite fishing hole? Run your line, bait your hook, plop it into the water, and wait for that big monster to bite! Nothing like having the “Gone Fishin'” sign on your door and spending time on the water!

 

Lures, Line, and Bait Oh My!

Any fishermen know what different hooks, lines, and lures they like to use when they go to catch any fish. My family, especially my dad loves Rapala for his fishing needs. Check out these lures and line I received to test out.

As any good fishermen know, you must have the proper equipment to get the best results. All the lures listed is ideal for Largemouth Bass. Let’s get started and I ‘ll tell you why and what is so great about these!

Function:

Rapala Shadow Rap Series:  This bad boy mimics a wounded minnow or a minnow in distress in the water.  It triggers the Bass to strike even though it’s not hungry. Feeding Time!

Storm 360GT Searchbait:   This baby is mainly for Bass, but Catfish will strike at it too. It’s for fishing on the bottom of the lake. It’s weighted very well, and the bait falls a natural speed. You don’t want your bait to fall to the bottom to fast, the slow action of the fall will trigger a bite.

Terminator Frog Series:  This is a top water bait which means it stays on the top of the water. This lure has excellent action and very lively while retrieving. The action of this bait resulted in several good and many explosive bites. Now, this lure is extremely effective on Bass, but Catfish will not bite it. (NOTE: Cats will not hit the top water at all.)

Sufix 832 Advanced Superline: This Sufix Braided Line comes in 10 Lb Tinsel string but at a smaller diameter than the standard 10 Lb monofilament line. By the decrease in diameter, it makes this braided line extremely sensitive and makes working lures a breeze. A majority of professional fishermen and weekend anglers prefer braided line over other types of line. (Note: Braided Line can cut your hands and fingers)

 

Day Out In The Sun:

Going fishing with your dad or the family doesn’t matter as long as you are with the people you love! I love that it can be enjoyed by anyone! Catch or release or take the fish home to eat, sitting with your dad or family makes for a great day! Can you think of a better way to spend the afternoon than sitting on the lake and seeing what takes a nibble on your hook?

After he had changed career fields from Load Master on the flight lines to Superintendent of Military Personnel, he was always in need of a pen that wouldn’t run out of ink or do that “skip as you wrote” bit. This pen comes with an easy to change refillable ink cartridge for the avid writers. These pens to me, are stylish and elegant and perfect for doing some calligraphy. It reminds me of the feathered pens with ink wells on how the pens would scratch over the parchment while you were writing your deepest thoughts. Yea, I love old stuff and read to many old novels!  Adagio Teas: Heaven In Each Sip

Growing up, I always had some type of tea to drink or sample. Sweet tea from the South, hot tea from Europe, and much more. Kinda like different coffees taste; differently, teas from different brands or parts of the world, tastes differently than others. Adagio Tea’s has something for everyone with their various blends of teas. Adagio Tea’s carries black, green, white, and oolongs, as well as many other flavored teas, blends, rooibos and herbal teas. I fell in love with these teas from the very first sip!

Adagio Teas:

I was able to pick out the many flavors of teas to sample and savor the flavors. I ended up with enough tea to last me a long time and plan to go back for more! Some people are coffeeholic’s; I’m a tea-holic and a proud one at that!  Here are what I chose to try:

My Samples:

• Peppermint 8 oz.  This tea has a crisp peppermint smell to it. While I sipped on it, the peppermint was not overpowering and leaves a fresh feeling in your mouth.
• Earl Grey 1.3 oz.   I love this tea with a little milk and a pinch of sugar. Superb aroma, great taste and doesn’t have an overbearing citrus flavor. One of my favorite drinks!
• Darjeeling Sungma Summer .8 oz.  It gives off an aroma of a grape-ish flavor and tastes like summer. Again this tea isn’t overpowering and very delightful!
• Irish Breakfast 3 oz.  This is another black tea that has a little bit of a stronger taste than the others. Spices with a mix of citrus. I like this tea as much as I do Earl Grey.
• Rooibos Vanilla Chai .8 oz.  First time trying a Chai tea and I’m impressed. To me, it’s like drink a sugar cookie with more of a vanilla twist. I think they have a new fan! YUMM!
• Yerba Mate .8 oz.  This tea is a green tea that you can drink either hot or with ice. I’m not the biggest fan of green teas. However, my mom loves it. She and I both agree that it has an earthy taste that’s subtle
• Thai Chai .8 oz.  This one to me has a bit of a coconut, lemony taste to it. It was good. It brought back memories of the cousins and I running around the Ohio/Kentucky farm eating on Lemongrass!
• Chocolate Chai .8 oz. Who doesn’t love chocolate?? This tea is a bit spicier than a traditional chocolate drink, but it’s great! I will be buying more of this soon! When you try it, mix in some Almond milk and see what you think!
• Free sample: Citrus Green
• NOTE: When you open each package or bag, you can smell the delicious aromas of each flavor of the tea. It’s heaven!

Of course, who would be able to drink all these wonderful teas without the proper Teapot and cups!! I bought Dalian Teapot with Cups to enjoy my tea, plus they were super cute!

 

Thoughts:

Each tea that I taste brought its distinctive taste to the brew. Some are bitter and earth-toned vs. a sweet hint, but I like a sweeter approach to hot teas and will add a dash of honey in mine. Earl Grey and Irish Breakfast blends are hands down my favorite, but I drink mine with a splash of milk or cream and sugar. I found out too that if you get a Danish sugar cookie and dunk into your tea, it will add a hint of vanilla that rocks! You’ll have to try it out and see what you think of that combo! You’ll never go back! I understand why Brit’s love their tea time!

My boyfriend always has and will always be a peppermint fan. Adagio Peppermint tea is gone because of Larry. I’ll be buying more as of today and in BULK! My Peppermint Tea Burglar! He was also partial to the Chocolate Chai and Rooibos Vanilla Chai.

Adagio Teas:

Adagio Tea’s has subscription boxes so you can give someone a gift of their unique blends. Or if you are like me and love teas, and what to try what’s out there without paying a small fortune. All of the teas I have received and tried have been excellent. Some I like better than others, but every one of the blends I would buy again. Curl up with a steaming cup of Adagio Tea blend and a good book, and you have a perfect afternoon.

Ladies, if you like a bubble bath, soft music and having some alone time for the kids, brew you a pot of your favorite blend and enjoy the peace! You could also have little tea parties with the kids while playing a favorite board game or watching a favorite program. Various types of tea make life a bit yummier!

 

Storage:

Adagio Tea’s are mainly loose tea, but the bags the loose tea comes in are resealable! Nice, right? I also like to store my loose tea in a gallon sized bags that seal well. Heat exposure will quickly ruin good tea just like moisture. These are the worst enemy’s of tea and can ruin an entire batch of it within minutes. Your tea should always store in a dark place and never use glass or clear jars to store teas. You need to store your teas in an airtight container that isn’t reached by sunlight. A cabinet or hutch seems to work the best when storing them.

 

My Final Thoughts:

Would I buy Adagio Teas again? The answer is yes I would! I love how they have a huge selection to choose from and multiple sizes to get. If you don’t like one, don’t worry you don’t there is something else for you to try. That is one thing I like about this company!

Would I suggest Adagio Teas to other tea lovers? Yes! Everyone can find something for their tastes. Win Win! Grab a book, a cup of tea, and chill under a shade tree and enjoy the afternoon!

Enjoy Snacks With Otis Spunkmeyer this summer! School is finally out folks, and the kids are home playing outside and enjoying the summer sun! Kids outside running around and playing they’ll have a huge hunger that’s filled with the deliciousness of Otis Spunkmeyer’s tasty treats!

Otis Spunkmeyer snack cakes, muffins, and cookies that are all individually wrapped and fun-sized that can be the perfect snack to pack for the beach, road trips, or just running errands with your parents! As parents, we don’t have to worry about the “Funky Stuff” in Spunkmeyer’s snacks, they do not contain partially hydrogenated oil, high fructose corn syrup, artificial coloring, and flavoring. YEA!!!! Kids love the snacks and parents love that they’re better for their children!

Thoughts:

I, Wendy, received 4 different boxes of Otis Spunkmeyer’s delicious snack cakes and cookies. My family and I enjoyed the sweet taste and savored the moist Mini Loaf Cinnamon Crumb Cake, Mini Loaf Iced Lemon Cake, Golden Creme Cakes, and Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Excited to be able to try little of this and that. Everything was fantastic!

I think the best way to describe these snacks would be to let you imagine yourself sitting in your favorite coffee shop, sipping on your favorite beverage and sinking your teeth in a moist, flavored filled cake or cookie that brings you back to where you were in the kitchen with Grandma! Yea! They’re that good!

 

Cinnamon and Iced Lemon Cakes:

These 2 cakes were amazing! They’re fresh, moist and melted in your mouth when I took a bite! HEAVENLY!!! I don’t think you could make anything better! Well, to be honest, it was like eating a homemade mini cake right out of Granny’s kitchen. The only difference was, it wasn’t piping hot, and I wasn’t getting popped with a spoon by Granny!

On the Cinnamon Loaf, there was plenty of crumbles and cinnamon on the top, and the cake itself was not overly sweet and buttery. Perfection! I’m a lemon cake fan, and Iced Lemon cake is up my ally! I loved everything about it. It wasn’t too sweet and not too tangy, just like the bears in Goldilocks, it was just right! Both cakes are great choices for snacks for the kids while they’re at home on summer break.

 

Golden Creme Cakes and Chocolate Chunk Cookies:

Well, the Golden Creme Cakes are my son’s favorite. He laid claim to this box. So if you were wondering if these are kid approved, there’s your answer! A HUGE YES!! They remind me of Twinkies, only better. The cake was buttery and moist as the rest, and the creme was, Oh so good!

I haven’t met many people who don’t like a good chocolate chip cookie. Otis Spunkmeyer’s cookies are packed with chunks of chocolate and butter goodness; you can’t help fall in love with! Chocolate Chunk’s great taste that you and I’ll rave over! It’s a great cookie! I find it hard to believe that it’s made somewhere other than home.

Everything that I have eaten and tried from Otis Spunkmeyer has been wonderful! I love the freshness of their cakes and cookies! I believe you get the best quality in their products! I’m super pleased with the snacks, and they’ve made us Spunkmeyer fans! Go and grab your favorite flavor of cake, muffin, and cookie and let me know what you think!
