Cinnamon And Sugar Apples
Getting up on a crisp, weekend morning with you being able to smell the coffee brewing, is heaven. Cooking breakfast for the family, is paradise. This recipe would be great to serve with homemade buttermilk pancakes or eggs. You, as a parent, would be “super-parent” of the day, serving this up to your hungry youngins. This Cinnamon and Sugar Apples is a simple recipe that will have your family thinking you worked your fingers to the bone in the kitchen for hours to make this wonderful treat!
1/4 cup butter
4 to 6 large Granny Smith Apples or Big Delicious
Apples need to be peeled, cored and sliced to 1/2 in thick (unless you like the peel)
2 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
In a large skillet or frying pan, you need to melt butter over medium heat. Add your apples making sure while they cook you are stirring constantly until the apples are almost tender.
In a small or medium bowl you need to dissolve the cornstarch in water. Add the mixture to the apples in the skillet. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve warm.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family. It helps to put smiles on their faces while you fill their bellies with great food!

Mmmm, this sounds like a great snack to me. It’s like the guts of an apple pie, but with no crust 🙂

One our helpers before made a variation of this one but I’m not sure if ground cinnamon was part of it. I’m glad I’m able to this one! By the way, I love the purples here.

Cinnamon and apples are some of my favorite comfort foods. There is just something about the warm, gooeyness I love.

A classic combination, that’s definitely going to be a hit with my family! We are huge fans of apples and anything I make with apples is devoured within minutes, lol. So I’m sure this is going to be awesome. It would be nice with crepes as well.
Never made these with crepes, so I will have to try that next time! I hope you and your family enjoys these! 🙂
